Location: Hybrid Working (UK)
Salary: £65,000 – £85,000 basic + Benefits + Bonus (Depending on experience)

An innovative technology organisation specialising in advanced cyber security products is seeking a Software Engineer (C++ / Rust) to join its growing engineering team. Working as part of a collaborative development team, you will contribute to the design, development and enhancement of next-generation software products, helping to deliver secure, high-performance solutions for complex technical environments.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineer, you will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, developing high-quality applications using modern engineering practices. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, contribute to product innovation and work on technically challenging projects where quality, security and performance are key priorities.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and enhance software solutions using modern C++ and/or Rust.
- Contribute to the design and development of secure, high-performance applications.
- Work on software for Linux-based and embedded environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams using Agile delivery practices.
- Participate in pair programming, code reviews and test-driven development (TDD).
- Support the development of cloud-connected applications where appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across software development practices.
- Assist with technical problem solving, product enhancement and customer-focused development activities.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle from design through to testing and deployment.
Skills & Experience Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in:
- Commercial software development with approximately 2–5 years’ experience or equivalent practical experience.
- Modern C++ (including STL) and/or Rust development.
- Python programming.
- Linux application development or low-level systems programming.
- Embedded software or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Cloud application development.
- Networking concepts and cyber security principles.
- Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
- Working collaboratively within Agile software development teams.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Network security technologies.
- Linux platform bring-up.
- Real-time networking protocols.
- Embedded systems development.
- Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Pair programming and collaborative software engineering practices.
- Experience working on security-focused or mission-critical applications.
